NMG Leadership Forum : Manufacturing -Kenya’s Future.

Nation Media Group in collaboration with the University of Nairobi hosted NMG Leadership Forum on Monday 19 March 2018 , a platform where professionals, stakeholders, leaders and Kenyans  discuss issues related to development.

The forum seeks to encourage dialogue on key issues affecting the country such as economy, agriculture, health, governance and financial markets. This edition’s topic dubbed “Manufacturing: Kenya’s Future” is close to my heart and I was honoured to represent the voice of Kenyan SMES in manufacturing through Kenya Industrial Estates Limited.

Adan Mohamed Cabinet Secretary for Industry, Trade & Cooperatives Republic of Kenya, Wanjiru Waweru Waithaka CEO FunKidz Limited, Phyllis Wakiaga, CEO Kenya Association of Manufacturers, Rakesh Rao, CEO Crown Paints Kenya PLC, Ahmed Rady General Manager, Coca-Cola East and Central Africa Franchise and Bitange Ndemo Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Nairobi’s Business School led a spirited panel discussion on industry competitiveness, market access and sustainability for the Kenyan manufacturing industry.

The future of Kenya’s manufacturing industry is in our hands and we must begin to think about life-long learning & leverage on the new skills that create the linkage of technology into manufacturing for efficiency and scalability.
